Carole Gets Big Sendoff as Campaign Opens

Carole James' campaign for Victoria-Beacon Hill got off to a rousing start at her official campaign sendoff at the Victoria-Beacon Hill Campaign Office.

“After eight years of Gordon Campbell's arrogance and neglect, it's time to put people first and take back your BC," she told a packed room of supporters and volunteers.

James said she is looking forward to a spirited campaign that clearly highlights the differences between her plan and Gordon Campbell's record.
"Under Gordon Campbell's watch, BC has seen unprecedented job losses - 22,000 last month alone, the worst in Canada. And we've lost 70,000 jobs since Campbell announced his economic plan last fall," said James.
"This election is about who voters can trust to help average families through tough economic times. The NDP has a plan to protect jobs and help working people."
James said Gordon Campbell stands alone amongst western leaders with his agenda to raise taxes and cut programs.
"That is no way to help families through tough times," she said.
"This election is about people. It's about security for working families, respect for seniors, and opportunities for our children. It's about taking back your BC – a place where everyone matters, not just the few."
