Carole Outlines Her Plans To Reduce Poverty and Homelessness

Victoria, April 29th.--A crowd of supporters greeted Carole as she got off her campaign bus outside of Our Place in downtown Victoria.

Inside more than two hundred people gathered to hear the Victoria Beacon Hill candidates debate the issues of poverty and homelessness at a forum organized by Our Place, Faith In Action and the Committee to End Homelessness in Victoria.

Carole James' campaign for Victoria-Beacon Hill got off to a rousing start at her official campaign sendoff at the Victoria-Beacon Hill Campaign Office.

“After eight years of Gordon Campbell's arrogance and neglect, it's time to put people first and take back your BC," she told a packed room of supporters and volunteers.

Large Crowd Cheers as Carole James Nominated

A large crowd of friends and supporters was on hand as NDP leader Carole James was nominated April 5 as the NDP’s candidate for Victoria Beacon Hill in the May 12 election.

James, who has served as MLA for Victoria Beacon Hill since 2005, strongly attacked the eight years of Gordon Campbell government that has left B.C. with record rates of child poverty and homelessness. The Campbell government has done nothing while the B.C. forest industry has gone into the tank.
